Because accidents can happen at any time, we know you like to be prepared for anything. That’s why we offer Personal Accident Insurance specifically designed for women. Get out there and do your thing while we worry about your future with a Personal Accident Insurance quote.
What does Personal Accident Insurance cover?
Our Personal Accident Insurance covers you if you are in an accident and become permanently disabled, hospitalised, or pass away within 12 months of the accident. This is how it works:
Disability: If you become permanently disabled, we’ll pay out a portion of your cover amount. The type and extent of the disablement will affect your payout, for example, you’ll receive a 100% payout if you lose sight in both your eyes but a 60% payout if you lose sight in just one eye.
Hospitalisation: If you are hospitalised following an accident, we’ll cover you from the first day you are in hospital for up to 104 weeks. We pay the cover amount directly to you and not the hospital.
Death: If you pass away due to an accident, we’ll pay out your full cover amount in one lump sum to your nominated beneficiaries.
What doesn’t Personal Accident Insurance cover?
We’ll only cover you in the event of an unexpected and unintentional accident, which excludes incidents caused by the following:
Accidents or injuries that occurred before the start of the Personal Accident Insurance policy.
Personal Accident Insurance benefits
We offer a number of tailor-made benefits designed specifically for women with our Personal Accident Insurance:
You can add up to five dependent children between 15 and 21 years old, and up to 25 years old if they are full-time registered students.
If you add your spouse, you get a discount on your Personal Accident Insurance quote.
In the event of a death or disablement payout, you or your beneficiaries will receive a lump sum payment completely tax-free.
You get access to Expo-Sure, our confidential HIV testing, counselling, and treatment programme following accidental exposure to HIV. If this happens, once you call our Care Centre number, we’ll ensure you get blood tests, appropriate treatment, and counselling within the critical first 72 hours.
We know your children are your priority, so we’ve included a children’s benefit in all of our Personal Accident Cover quotes. All dependent children are covered for 25% of your total cover amount. These benefits are limited to the following values:
R10 000 for children unborn to six years old.
R30 000 for children seven to 14 years old.
