Aint no mountain high enough! It was this belief which enabled Deshun Deysel to take her childhood dream of climbing Mount Everest and turn it into reality. As one of South Africa's top speakers, facilitators and trainers, her climbing and other adventures, sport and community involvement have taught her that summits happen in stages - in life every day is a summit - success is when you get back down.....alive!

In the past 12 years Deshun has been on 12 major mountaineering expeditions, spanning five continents, and reached a personal record of 8 300m above sea level in 2003 in Mount Everest’s ‘Death Zone’.

In 2007 she launched her "7 Summits" program to climb the highest mountain on each of the seven continents. These are Aconcagua (South America), Carstensz Pyramid (Oceania), Elbrus (Europe), Everest (Asia), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Denali (North America) and Vinson Massif (Antarctica).

The program launched in Nepal with a trek from Kathmandu to Kala Pattar, at Mount Everest's South Base Camp. Deshun led the international group of trekkers including the internationally renowned UK former Olympic decathlete, and fellow Laureus Sport for Good Foundation member, Daley Thompson.

Sponsored by 1st for Women Insurance Brokers, she went on to summit Mt Elbrus in the Russian Caucasus on 9 August 2007 and Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, in January 2008 thereby successfully completing the 1st 2 mountains in her 7 Summits quest.

Her two passions in life are facilitating the development of others in reaching their full potential and climbing high mountains!
