These benefits are included with the Motor – Comprehensive, Motor – Third Party, Fire & Theft and Motorcycle cover sections.
Road Assistance
This benefit offers comprehensive solutions for virtually any roadside emergency:
- Breakdown Assistance
- Towing to the nearest dealer after a mechanical/electrical breakdown
- Cover for the call-out fee plus 1 hour’s labour for a vehicle locksmith if your keys are locked in your car
- Cover for the call-out and 1 hour’s labour when assistance with a flat tyre/battery is required
- Free emergency delivery of 10 litres of fuel (charged at cost)
- Roadside referral
- Mechanical referral
- Directions service
- 72 Hours’ free storage after tows
- Notification and message service for family or business
- If you are stranded more than 100 km away from home after a breakdown and your vehicle needs to be towed to a repairer, we will arrange and pay up to R500 towards one of the following:
OR
Hotel accommodation for yourself and a maximum of 6 people if there is an overnight delay
OR
Car hire for a 24-hour period, subject to the provision of a credit card guarantee and limited to rental charges, delivery and collection of the hire vehicle, the first tank of fuel and surrender of the vehicle on arrival at your destination
OR
R500 towards the cost of collecting the vehicle and returning it to your normal place of residence after the repair has been effected
Accident Assistance
- Towing to the nearest approved panelbeaters/yard after an accident
- Collision procedure advice.
Traffic Assist
- Through well established relationships with various traffic departments we assist you and your employees with:
- Accurate up-to-date information on outstanding traffic fines
- The payment verification and court procedures that may be involved when settling fines
- Driver profiling through traffic fine analyses
- Driver’s license verification
- Fleet traffic fine monitoring.
Trip Monitor (NEW)
With the increase of road accidents and hijackings on our roads, everyone needs to feel safe while travelling. This benefit makes sure that there is always someone looking out for you on long trips.
At your request, we will monitor your vehicle for short distances at 30 minute intervals or long distances such as holiday trips to ensure that you reach your destination safely.
Should contact be interrupted, your next of kin or any other specified party, such as the emergency services will be informed of the time and location of the last communication conveyed.
Directions Assist (NEW)
This 24-hour Directions helpline will provide you with guidance when travelling within the borders of South Africa.
The helpline will offer assistance when you are lost, don’t have your directions with you, do not have a GPS, or need confirmation that you are on the correct route.
Clear directions are given telephonically whilst on-route. They can also be faxed or e-mailed to a specific address. The helpline offers detailed map information of major metropolitan areas such as Johannesburg CBD, West Rand, East Rand, Southern and Northern suburbs of Johannesburg, Pretoria suburbs, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, etc. and basic route information on rural areas.
